Advertising Disclosure

How We Monetize
Illinois Community maintains an ads.txt file to declare authorized seller relationships for the domain.
At the moment, this website does not load live display-ad code in the browser. If we enable on-page advertising later, we will update this disclosure and the privacy policy before launch.
Ad Labeling
Paid placements are labeled clearly. We do not intentionally disguise ads as independent editorial content.
Ad Placement Standards
- Any future ad units will be clearly labeled and visually separated from editorial content.
- Ads should remain visually distinct from navigation, article controls, and download-style buttons.
- We do not ask users to click ads or use misleading labels that could drive accidental engagement.
- We review layouts on both desktop and mobile so monetization does not overwhelm the main content.
- We avoid ad-heavy pages that provide less value than the content itself.
Sponsored Content Policy
- Sponsored content is identified with clear disclosure language.
- We reject sponsorships that conflict with user safety or trust.
- Sponsors do not control our independent editorial pages.
Editorial Independence
Advertising relationships do not guarantee coverage and do not change our content standards. We do not promise favorable reviews or rankings in exchange for payment.
Affiliate Links
If we use affiliate links in the future, we will disclose them near the relevant content. Using an affiliate link may generate a commission at no additional cost to the reader.
User Feedback
If you believe an ad is misleading or inappropriate, email hello@illinoiscommunity.com with the page URL and ad details.
